Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule
The purpose of
the RRP Rule is to minimize exposure from
lead-based paint dust during renovation, repair,
or painting activities which has taken effect
April 2010, for residential housing properties
built before 1978.
The RRP Rule requires that renovators are
trained in the use of lead safe work practices
when renovation or repair work undertaken on
pre-1978 housing that disturbs more than six (6)
square feet of surface area for interior work,
or twenty (20) square feet of exterior work.
That renovators and firms be certified, that
providers of renovation training be accredited,
and that renovators follow specific work
practice standards. Additional information on
